Kearney

Kid’s Fishing Derby
Jesse James Park Lake
May 6
10 – 1 p.m.
The Kearney Lions Club presents their second annual Kids Fishing Derby at Jesse James Park Lake. The derby is open to the first 65 registered youth, ages 5 -14, who live in the Kearney/Holt area (Kearney School District).
Participants must pre-register online by May 1 in order to participate.

The Fun Farm
Spring/Summer
Did you know that The Fun Farm offers activities throughout the year? This spring, they are open for their Tulip Festival, with 22 acres of tulips, 30 plus farm activities, endless photo opportunities, and a farm store filled with treats. They also offer pick-your-own tulips. The tentative opening date is April 13 (weather dependent), and the Tulip Festival should run through early-to-mid May.

If you miss it or tulips aren’t your thing, their Strawberry Festival with fields of you-pick strawberries will be available soon after. Follow them on Facebook or check their website at www.funfarmpumpkinpatch.

St. Joseph

45th annual Pot of Gold Arts Gala & Auction

With the help of volunteers, sponsors, and donors, the annual Pot of Gold auction is a signature event for the museum. Since its inception in 1978, the Pot of Gold auction supports the museum’s operating budget, education initiatives, and special programs.
Now in its 45th year, they are celebrating with “An Evening in the Enchanted Forest.” Guests are encouraged to wear black to this year’s Pot of Gold for the magical themed evening. Tickets include dinner and access to the live auction.


Apple Blossom Parade

The Apple Blossom Parade has been a spring tradition in St. Joseph for nearly 100 years. Bring the kids and welcome spring with the local community.

Smithville

Derby Wine Walk and Spring Market 2023
May 6 from 1-5 p.m..
Head on out for the annual Wine Walk on the Smithville square, wearing your best derby hat. Grab your friends and family for an evening of wine tasting, live music, and shopping at all of the local brick-and-mortar stores while you sip. There will also be an open Spring Market featuring many vendors including food trucks. NO tickets are required to shop.

Platte City

The Vineyard at J. Creek
May 13 and 14 from 12-3 p.m.
What’s better than moms, wine and dessert?! Spoil the special mom in your life this Mother’s Day. For 25 dollars a ticket, enjoy a flight of wine and a buffet of confectionery style desserts at The Vineyard at J. Creek. Live Music will be performed by Mitchell V.

Plattsburg

Annual Main Street Stroll

Head over to Plattsburg for the fourth Annual Main Street Stroll!
Come sip the wine, shop over 40 vendors, check out the local shops and restaurants, and enjoy the small town life.

Excelsior Springs

Seventeenth Annual Wine Festival
June 10 from 2 – 8 p.m.
This premier destination event places Missouri’s wineries and its famous wines on display in the beautiful outdoor setting of Lover’s Lane in East Valley Park in downtown Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
You’ll have the opportunity to sample over 85 wines from 20 different Missouri wineries, and meet with the owners who have made Missouri famous in the American wine market. You will also have the opportunity to experience Missouri made craft brews and talk directly to the brewery owners and brew masters.
Local bands will provide the background music and keep the festival lively while you sip and stroll the wineries, breweries, food trucks and vendors at the festival.
