Nothing says February quite like chocolate! Visit downtown Excelsior Springs for the 18th Annual Chocolate Tour! For just $25, you can sample scrumptious sweet treats at over 25 participating locations and have all-day access to the trolley courtesy of the Downtown Excelsior Partnership, Inc. Or you can elevate your experience and become a VIP ticket holder for $50 and enjoy a three-course wine flight and chocolate pairing hosted by Ventana Gourmet Grill.
Super Science Saturday

St. Joseph, Missouri
Visit Missouri Western State University for the family favorite Super Science Saturday. Science lovers of all ages can spend the day participating in interactive science experiments about weather, chemistry, physics, and more. Tickets are $5, and children ages five and under can attend for free.
Smooches for Pooches

Kearney, Missouri
Sponsored by Stay & Play Doggie Day Care at Long Veterinary Clinic, this event is $10 per dog. It includes a Valentine’s Day themed “Kissing Booth” for photos with your dog and family, in addition to a photo booth with some of Liberty Animal Shelter’s adoptable dogs. Find out more about the shelter and their available dogs, and take a picture with an adoptable pet. All proceeds raised will go to Long Veterinary Clinic’s K9 Unit fund.
Wine and Chocolate Tour

4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Kearney, Missouri
The Kearney Enrichment Council’s Wine and Chocolate Tour begins and ends at the Firehouse Community Center. Visit 16 stops around town and try a variety of wine and chocolate. General admission tickets include a stemmed wine glass. VIP tickets include a stemless logo wine glass, a wine bag filled with goodies, and a trolley to travel around town in style. There are a limited number of VIP tickets.
UCP Heart of America Chili Challenge

St. Joseph, Missouri
For 37 years and counting, the St. Joseph Civic Arena has been packed with chili cookoff contestants and a supportive public crowd. The Chili Challenge is the organization’s only fundraising event, and so far, it has raised more than 2 million dollars to help children and adults with disabilities. Admission includes dozens of chili samples, live music, and a chance to shop with a variety of unique vendors and bid in the silent auction. Age : 20
Dasia is one of our more recent hires at Fulfillment House. She has been part of our team for more than four months now. She enjoys all the tasks here and is always happy to jump in and help wherever needed.
Dasia is very active outside of work and has various interests. She enjoys playing video games and sketching on her iPad, especially anime. She is quite a talented artist! Dasia also loves animals and spends a lot of time with them. She helps take care of her many pets at home, including four dogs, four cats, four chickens, and two snakes. This is also her second year riding horses at Northland Therapeutic Riding Center, which she says is really fun!

The Fulfillment House began in 2018 as a passion project for two local business owners as one of their sons with Down Syndrome was navigating the often-difficult transition to life after high school. They saw the potential to take an existing business need and transform it into an enriching employment opportunity for adults with special needs.
