For over 40 years, visitors have kicked off the holiday shopping season with this special event. Guests can find unique gifts, artisan-made crafts, and vintage goods from more than 30 small businesses, local entrepreneurs, and crafters. There will also be live music and performances, and lunch will be served in the café. The preview party is from 5:30 – 8 pm on November 7, then the festival is open from 10 am – 8 pm on November 8, and 10 am – 4 pm on November 9.
Smithville
Christmas Wine Walk & Market

The annual Smithville Christmas Wine Walk & Market is happening in cozy Smithville. Visit for a festive afternoon filled with holiday shopping, delicious food, and wine tasting.
Stroll through the charming brick-and-mortar shops, enjoy a bite at one of the local restaurants, and discover unique finds from a variety of vendors. With Fountain City Winery offering tastings and wine by the glass as well as many other wines available inside the businesses, this event is the perfect way to celebrate the season and support local businesses.
Excelsior Springs
Christmas in Excelsior Springs
November 23
If you enjoy holiday festivities, Excelsior Springs is the place to be on November 23. Local artisans and vendors will have their wares on display from 10 am to 5 pm at the Montgomery Event Venue. From 10 am to 3 pm, the Elf Factory is being held at the Excelsior Springs Community Center, where children of all ages can complete holiday arts and crafts at a nominal cost. The Hall of Trees opens in the Hall of Waters that day, and downtown businesses will be ready to help you check items off your holiday shopping list. At 6 pm, the mayor will turn on the Christmas lights downtown, and the lighted Christmas parade will begin.
Kearney
Kearney’s Magical Night

The Kearney Enrichment Council is hosting its fourth annual Kearney’s Magical Night. Visit downtown Kearney for a lighted parade, a chance to visit Santa, and crafts and activities hosted by local businesses. The night will end with an extraordinary fireworks display sponsored by the city. It’s a special night for the whole family!

Dasia is one of our more recent hires at Fulfillment House. She has been part of our team for more than four months now. She enjoys all the tasks here and is always happy to jump in and help wherever needed.
Dasia is very active outside of work and has various interests. She enjoys playing video games and sketching on her iPad, especially anime. She is quite a talented artist! Dasia also loves animals and spends a lot of time with them. She helps take care of her many pets at home, including four dogs, four cats, four chickens, and two snakes. This is also her second year riding horses at Northland Therapeutic Riding Center, which she says is really fun!

The Fulfillment House began in 2018 as a passion project for two local business owners as one of their sons with Down Syndrome was navigating the often-difficult transition to life after high school. They saw the potential to take an existing business need and transform it into an enriching employment opportunity for adults with special needs.
