The Art Experience at Mosaic Life Care
At Mosaic Life Care, we are committed to providing the best and safest care, while creating a warm, inviting environment for our patients, family members and caregivers. Our innovative life-care model combines traditional health care and a focus on key life elements that affect overall wellness. The experiences patients, visitors and caregivers have within our walls is a primary focus at Mosaic Life Care and are enhancing this experience with original, inspiring and healing art created by local and regional artists.
The Art Experience transforms the hospital environment by enhancing the health-care experience and encouraging physical and emotional well-being. The idea of art as a transformative and healing experience in hospitals has proven to be very successful. Programs like this have been gaining popularity over the years, and today, many art-in- hospitals programs have blossomed into extensive networks of artists, art organizations and hospitals.According to widely accepted research, the art-health initiative within the health-care environment was shown to:
Improve symptoms in patients such as a shorter length of hospital stay, decreased use of pain medication and lower blood pressure.
Increase satisfaction with the health- care environment for patients, family and caregivers.
Thanks to the generosity of donors in our community, there are six art galleries throughout the medical center. These galleries feature original works of art, showcasing the talents of artists throughout the 23 counties Mosaic Life Care serves. In partnership with the Albrecht- Kemper Museum of Art, artwork will be judged twice a year by Mosaic Life Care caregivers. Artwork will be displayed for six months. Original art makes a great gift! If you are interested in purchasing a piece of art on display, please contact the Mosaic Office of Government and Community Relations at 816.271.7016 or 816.271.7021.

The Fulfillment House began in 2018 as a passion project for two local business owners as one of their sons with Down Syndrome was navigating the often-difficult transition to life after high school. They saw the potential to take an existing business need and transform it into an enriching employment opportunity for adults with special needs.
