Biking and Hiking in the Northland: Stocksdale Park in Liberty, Missouri

Stocksdale Park in Liberty, Missouri, is jam-packed with activities. For the mountain bikers and hikers it offers about six miles of winding single track spread across more than 60 acres. In full bloom, the dense forest makes it hard to see around the corners, so stay vigilant and always use good trail etiquette. It’s a peaceful landscape full of creek crossings, switchbacks, and plenty of climbing. The trail is suitable for beginners and intermediate riders with plenty of walkable technical sections and lots of flow.

For those that enjoy disc golf, Stocksdale offers a massive course with some challenging sections. As disc golfers walk from hole to hole, they can catch glimpses of mountain bikers as they wind in and out of the fairways.

If single-track or disc golf isn’t your thing, there are plenty of paved trails suitable for long walks through the same dense forests. Strollers are no problem and families can start from the playground and loop back for a complete outing. And don’t forget to bring the dogs. Stocksdale dog park is on site and offers a small dog and a large dog area.
